www.mineduc.gov.rw results -The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) is a government entity that was established in 2020 by presidential order No N° 123/01 dated 15 October 2020 and published in Official Gazette No 32 bis dated 19 October 2020. It was formed by the Ministry of Education to be in the forefront of monitoring the application of Norms and Standards through school inspections, as well as to administer comprehensive assessments in TVET and Basic Education in compliance with Competence Based Curriculum / Training.

MISSION

NESA’s primary objective is to ensure the quality of basic education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) from level one (1) to level five (5), as well as to regulate comprehensive student assessments and national examinations.

Responsibilities:

NESA’s key responsibilities are as follows:

To create accreditation requirements ranging from one (1) to five (5) levels for private basic education institutions and TVET schools;
Monitoring norms and standards application in public, government-subsidized, and private basic education and TVET institutions from level one (1) through level five (5)
To ensure the quality of education from level one (1) to level five (5) in public, government-subsidized, and private primary and secondary schools, as well as TVET schools;
National exams must be prepared, administered, and graded.
Making national exam results public;
Students from primary and secondary schools who have passed national exams will be orientated.

Powers:

NESA is authorised to:

provide certificates to students who have passed basic education national examinations and TVET level five (5); a private basic education school or a TVET school of level one (1) to five (5) may be certified.
a workplace may be authorised to provide TVET training and a certificate up to level five (5);
Suspend or close a school providing basic education or a TVET school of level one (1) to five (5) when judged necessary (5).
Certificates and degrees given by international schools that provide basic education and TVET levels ranging from one (1) to five (5) are equal and provide equivalency (5).
