Nigeria National Anthem -The “Arise, O Compatriots” is the song that serves as Nigeria’s national anthem. It wasn’t until the late 1970s that it was officially recognised as the nation’s second national anthem. The song “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” was the former Nigerian national anthem before it was replaced in 1978 by “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”

The song’s lyrics are a compilation of words and phrases selected from the top five submissions received for a nationwide competition.
The Nigerian Police Band, which is led by Benedict P. Odiase, set the lyrics to music and performed them (1934–2013). P. O. Aderibigbe, John A. Ilechukwu, Dr. Sota Omoigui, Eme tim Akpan, and B.A. Ogunnaike are the five individuals responsible for the composition of the lyrics to the Nigerian national anthem.
