The winner of this tournament competes in the CAF Super Cup the following year against the champion of the CAF Confederation Cup. It is open to clubs that finished in second place in their respective national leagues but did not qualify for the Champions League.

The Simba Sports Club is a Tanzanian football team that plays their home games in the Kariakoo suburb of Dar es Salaam.
The name “Queens” was chosen for the club in honour of Her Majesty, the Queen of England. The Dar Young Africans split off from the Tanzania Giants in 1936 to form their own squad and launch what would become this organisation.
