Kidum shares a touching story behind the song — a memory that dates back to 1986, when he was just 12 years old. He recalls the day he saw Jean Christopher Matata passing near his home in Kinama, the same place where Matata was born. Like many excited children, Kidum and his friends followed him for nearly 4 kilometers, completely mesmerized by the presence of the rising star.
