AKA – Mass Country -On February 24, the biggest streaming sites began offering South African rapper AKA‘s posthumous album Mass Country. The two-year-long project features collaborations with a variety of musicians, including longstanding partner Khuli Chana, KDDO, Nasty C, Sjava, 031Choppa, S.O.N, Yanga Chief, Manana, Musa Keys, Gyakie, Blxckie, Laylizzy, Weathrd, Nadia Nakai, and Emtee.

Two weeks after the tragic passing of AKA, on February 10, Mass Country was released. AKA was reportedly shot and killed in a violent attack at a restaurant in Durban, South Africa.

Several South African hip-hop artists and fans have responded to the album in various ways. Some have lauded the late rapper’s skill, while others have expressed emotion over its release. The album is receiving a lot of social media attention, and the hashtag #MassCountry is quickly gaining traction on Twitter.
