University of Dar es salaam Examination Results -In the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, there is a public institution known as the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). In 1961, the University of London invited the institution to become one of its affiliated colleges.
In 1963, not long after Tanzania achieved its independence from the United Kingdom, the university joined forces with the University of East Africa (UEA) to form an affiliated institution. Makerere University, located in Uganda; the University of Nairobi, which is located in Kenya; and the University of Dar es Salaam, which is located in Tanzania; UEA disbanded and became three separate universities in 1970.
The University of Dar es Salaam was ranked as the 1,618th best university in the world by the University Ranking by Academic Performance Center in the year 2012. (out of 2,000 ranked universities).
AcademyRank ranked the university as the 2,965th best university in the world in 2013, out of a total of 9,803 universities that were ranked. However, the university was ranked as the best of the 16 universities that were ranked in Tanzania, with the Sokoine University of Agriculture coming in second place.

In 2012, the university was ranked number 3,021st in the world (of of 3,290 institutions that were ranked), number 57th in Africa, and number two in Tanzania, behind the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. This was according to the Scimago Institutions Rankings.
This ranking was determined by Elsevier’s Scopus database, which took into account the total amount of papers that were published in academic journals and were indexed there. The “excellence rate” of the institution was the only factor considered for determining the university’s ranking in 2011; it came in at number 16 out of 62 universities in Africa. This percentage “indicates the percentage of an institution’s scientific output that is included in the set generated by the ten percent of the scientific papers that have received the most citations in their respective categories. It is a measurement of how well research institutions produce high-quality work “.
In July of 2012, Webometrics ranked the university as the 1,977th best university in the world based on its web presence. Web presence is an evaluation of the scholarly contents, visibility, and impact of the university on the web. However, the university was ranked as the best in Tanzania, with the Hubert Kairuki Memorial University coming in far behind in second place.

The university is comprised of 10 faculties and functions academically through five campuses located in and around the city of Dar es Salaam. Some of the faculties are only available at certain locations. For instance, the faculties of mechanical and chemical engineering, electrical and computer systems engineering, civil engineering and the built environment, and electrical and computer systems engineering are all located on the campus of the College of Engineering and Technology. Both the Mkwawa University College of Education and the Dar es Salaam University College of Education have active faculties of humanities and social sciences. These faculties are active in both campuses.
Since its medical college, the Muhimbili College of Health Sciences (MUCHS), expanded into the role of a full-fledged university in 2007, the university did not previously have a Doctor of Medicine program. However, beginning in 2015, the university began providing this program. The recently founded college was initially known as the University of Dar es Salaam School of Health Sciences (SOHS) and was located on the Mlimani campus. In 2017, the college changed its name to the Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences (MCHAS) and moved to the grounds of the Mbeya zonal referral hospital.
Mlimani, which translates to “on the hill” in Swahili, is the name of the primary campus of the University of Dar es Salaam. It is located 13 kilometers to the west of the city center of Dar es Salaam and is home to the primary faculties of education, arts and social science, and science. In addition to that, four specialized faculties have been formed there. These faculties are in the fields of informatics and virtual education; law; commerce and management; and aquatic science and technology. The university’s fifth campus is located within the same building as the Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication. [9]
