The CAF Interclub Competitions Organising Committee has reached a consensus on a number of important issues that concern to the upcoming season. These issues include the registration of clubs, the competition dates, the registration of player, and the engagement criteria for Member Associations.
As a result of this, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stated that the draw for the 2022-2023 Total Energies CAF Interclub tournaments Preliminary Rounds will take place today in Cairo over the next few hours. This follows the news that the draw will take place.
It has been announced that the draw for the 2022-2023 Total Energies CAF Interclub tournaments Preliminary Rounds will take place today, Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 5:00 PM East Africa Time in Cairo, Egypt.
This draw will mark the beginning of a trip to the 2022/23 season of both the Tota lEnergies CAF Champions League as well as the Tota lEnergies Confederation Cup.
The Total Energies CAF Champions League is currently held by Wydad Athletic Club, who are the current champions. RS Berkane, another club from Morocco, is the current holders of the Total Energies CAF Confederation Cup. They have been victorious in this competition on two separate occasions in the past three years.

The Champions Young African and Simba Sc will represent Tanzania in the CAF Champions League while Azam Fc and Geita Gold will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup.
