Aside from that, Mariah Carey, an American singer and composer, is responsible for the Christmas song “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” It was released by Columbia Records as the lead single from her fourth studio album and first holiday album, Merry Christmas, on November 1, 1994. Merry Christmas was also her first holiday album (1994). The song is a fast-paced love ballad that has bell chimes, loud backup vocals, and synthesisers. Carey and Walter Afanasieff are responsible for writing and producing the song.
The song has become synonymous with the holiday season and may be heard playing often on the radio during this time of year. Throughout the years, a great number of artists have given their interpretations of it.
